Misikko Hana Elite Flat Iron Review and Giveaway

When it comes to appearance, hair is equally as important as fashion. Head-to-toe maintenance is required to complete any look.

This is the very reason why I agreed to review the Hana Elite 100% Ceramic Flat Iron 1" when Misikko contacted me. Although I have locs now, I recall the days of searching for the perfect flat iron. One that worked immediately - not after 2 or 3 applications in the same section. As we know, all of that heat is deadly to one's tresses. So, I decided that I would test it out on my sister, Brittany, since she is a natural beauty with hair sans chemicals (i.e. relaxer). With a retail price of $359.99 (currently on sale for $229.99) and features in both Marie Claire and Redbook, the goal was to see if it was worth the relatively high price tag and the hype.

The flat iron arrived inside a tin case accompanied with a ribbon wrapped travel pouch and heat proof silicone mat, all of which were surrounded by flowers. I really appreciated that Misikko understood the importance of presentation. Now, it was time to test it out!

Here are the results:

BEFORE

AFTER

Isn't she such a diva?

Needless to say, Brittany loved the Hana Elite. It seemed to straighten as soon as she applied it to her hair. Imagine the time savings from that alone! The texture of her hair felt identical to that of relaxed hair. This flat iron is indeed a winner for those looking to straighten naturally curly or kinky hair. Similar to an oven, you can easily set the temperature (140-450° F) based on how much heat you would like to apply. This really makes the Hana Elite suitable for all hair textures! I think it's safe to say that this flat iron lives up to its hype. Would I pay $300+ for it? I'm not so sure. However, I definitely would consider taking advantage of that sale price of $229.99.

For one lucky winner, you won't even have to worry about the price. Misikko has offered to give away a Hana Elite 100% Ceramic Flat Iron right here on ChiTown Fashionista!

I've never had relaxed hair, but occasionally like to enjoy straight hair. The results of this straightener look amazing, and it looks as if I could straighten my own hair without the hassle of paying $60 at the shop to have someone else do it! I start teaching soon, and I'd love to have straight hair for Back to School picture day!!

Oh I am following them AND I subscribed to the newsletter. I am the flat iron queen! I've had a relaxer since I was 3, yes 3 because my natural hair is super thick, tangles if I blink and I need something to control it. I would love this flat iron, I bet my hair would be smooth as silk!

I would LOOOOOOVE this, I am getting married in the beautiful (and not to mention HUMID) city of Charleston and when humidity hits my hair it is pure comedy.

I think that this will definitely tame my tresses and get me ready for one of the most important days in my life.

I could really use a straightner. Having curly hair, this would make it so easy to have the hair I want.

I have been flat ironing my hair for lord knows how long and living in South Florida's heat and humidity doesn't help my hair either and would love a flat iron that would do me a world of good that would straighten and "relax" my kinky, curly, and unruly hair. 'Nuff said. :)

I NEED these flat irons! I have been wearing the WY bob since 95 and decided to go with braids while my hair dresser was out of the country. No one informed that one needs to comb out their hair before they wash it which led to the clumps of hair that had to be cut from my head. Suffice it to say, I have about 8 inches less hair on one side, a style that requires daily maintenance and not one styling tool (other than combs and brushes). Yep, I think I need them the most...

Why do I want the Hana Elite? Well I tried the expensive CHI only for it to not work on my hair at all. So I gave it away. Now I want a hair straightener that really works. I have naturally curly hair and it's always been like that. Sometimes I'm just tired of have curly hair, and i really want to find a good flat iron. However I don't want to pay a ton for it, only for it to not work. So here I am, hoping to win this. Even if I don't win, I'm glad you made this available to your readers. THANK YOU

I want to win this Hana Elite for my sister. She wants to win it, she's up above.(PDuffey) She didn't really tell the whole story to why she wants to win. Her hair fell out when she was younger due to radiation. But before that she was used to straight and fine hair. Now she has very thick and curly hair, so it's been kind of an adjustment for her. Sometimes she just wants to go back to straight. And yeah I was the one who got the CHI, Lol. So I hope either one of us win, also i hope this isn't cheating. She insured me, but I'm a little iffy about it.
