RUNWAY SHOW VIDEO: IRREGULAR a fashion homage by Renovar

When I received word that Alma Weiser (aka the "mother" of Heaven Gallery) was having a runway show for her line, Renovar, that was to pay homage to designers such as Yamamoto, Miyake and Comme Des Garcons, I was excited.  Then, I found out I would be out of town that day.  Excitement turned into disappointment.  Entitled 'IRREGULAR a fashion homage by Renovar', I just KNEW it would be an amazing runway show.

Thanks to the wonderful world of technology, I was able to check it out on YouTube.  *score* 

The show was so fantastical that I had to share with my readers.  Alma uses reconstruction to breathe life into vintage garments.  And the items in this show were beyond lively. Fun, quirky and whimsical are the words that come to mind.  Besides the clothes, I absolutely loved the hats!  These statement headpieces will make you want to buy one just to wear to the grocery store.  Yes, they are THAT fabulous.

London Fashion Week S/S 2011: Live Streams

London Fashion Week is in full effect! Just in case you weren't aware, some of the shows will be streaming live. You still have three days left to get in on the action. Now, remember, London is SIX hours ahead of Central Standard Time. That means you'll probably have to be up as early as 3:00 AM to catch the first show. But, hey, fashion never sleeps. So why should we, right?

NY Fashion Week S/S 2011: Live Webcast Schedule

Today is the start of New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2011!! For those of us who can't attend the fashion shows in person, technology has come to the rescue (thanks to digital media companies like Zeitbyte) by providing us with virtual front row seats via live webcasts.

Although ALL of the shows are not available via a live webcast, something tells me that in a few years, they will be. Could designers switch to a webcast-only format in the future? Possibly. Will they? Only time will tell.

In the meantime, snuggle up to the computer and indulge in Fashion Week in the comfort of your own home or office. Please note, however, if you get caught watching fashion shows at work, you can't blame me. OK? OK.

My TJ Maxx Shopping Spree Inspires!

As you may or may not know, I won a $250 TJ Maxx gift card giveaway at Afrobella.com. Afrobella (aka Patrice) and I had a BALL shopping for cold-weather-chic items. We both went over the amount of our gift cards, which I already figured would happen since TJ Maxx has so much good stuff!

As soon as Afrobella posted the videos, I received a lot of positive feedback. One of my favorites, is from my friend/sister-n-law/fellow diva who stated that the scarf segment inspired her to rock her printed scarf the following day. How cool is that?! I had her send a pic and I must say she looks absolutely darling! Now, let's just see if she'll let me borrow that fabulous scarf. :-)
