Posh Passé - Home of the Triple Threat Tees

I first learned about the Chicago based clothing line Posh Passé in June when the streets were buzzing about the official launch party. Unfortunately, I couldn't attend but visited the website, www.poshpasse.com, where I discovered that Posh Passé was a line of t-shirts. T-shirts are not usually synonymous with chic but there was something unique about this line. Although they appeared to be your average, everyday screen tees, the styling of the shirts in the photos were so funky! I was immediately intrigued.

Fast forward one month to July>>>>
I am at the Indie Designer Market (which is fabulous, by the way) and spot this super chic woman sporting a cute white tee, some fabulous white wide-leg pants and a funky blonde hairdo. As I approach her, I realize that she is Crystal Crayton, the owner of Posh Passé!

This is my first time viewing the shirts in person and I'm totally blown away by how soft they feel. Crystal, who is wearing what I now see is her "Chic Chick" shirt, mentions that her t-shirts are handmade using pima cotton and deemed as "triple-threats". The shirts are soft enough that one can wear it as normal with an outfit, inside the house as loungewear OR around the neck as a scarf. Seeing as that I couldn't stop touching the shirt due to being mesmerized with its softness, I could SO visualize it being worn all 3 ways.

Also on display were some limited edition Poshe Passé shirts that Crystal recently designed for a fashion show. They are on sale for $89 until the end of August. The "Vintage Chick" limited edition shirt (shown above) - that I'm already preparing myself to purchase at this month's market - features a black lace back while the "Chic Chick" limited edition shirt (shown below) features a white organza back. These designs are truly unique and are a fashionable way to flip an otherwise typical t-shirt.

I'm thinking the "Vintage Chick" tee with skinny leather pants and studded heels like these OR the "Chic Chick" tee with a short, full denim skirt and caged booties like these. Fun, Fun, Fun!

Needless to say, I'm officially in love with Posh Passé and all it has to offer. The fact that Crystal is such a cool individual is just icing on the cake. You can check out the entire line at the Posh Passé online shop or in person at this month's Indie Designer Market (click here for more details).

And tell her that ChiTown Fashionista sent ya!

Etsy Showcase: Lirola

"It's all in the details" is my favorite phrase. And it holds very true when it comes to fashion. I love details - especially feminine ones - and this is where the Lirola Etsy Shop comes in. Lirola's clothing incorporates a lot of ruffle detailing on the shirts and dresses in its collection. Recently, I fell head over heels for the Ruffle Top (shown above), the Secret Garden Top (below right) and the Fiorello Top (below left).

All three shirts have distinctive ruffle details but are equally fabulous! I also love that they can be paired with jeans, trousers or a skirt. I don't know about you but versatile items are ALWAYS welcome in my wardrobe. Let's not forget the fact that the shirts are handmade and Lirola will custom fit this shirt for YOUR body based on your measurements. And if that's not enough, all of these shirts are available in several colors for under $75!

You can't beat affordable couture.

Solange's Shoes by Moschino Cheap & Chic

I'm usually not the one to blog about celebrity fashion but when I saw the pics of Solange (along with her sister) from the recent Samantha Thavasa event in Japan this past weekend, I nearly fell out of my chair. It had nothing to do with Solange's new hair cut - which I happen to love by the way - but had EVERYTHING to do with the shoes she was rockin'. They are fabulous beyond words. Half sandal, half bootie?! Who does that?!

After hours of searching the net, I finally discovered that the shoes are part of Moschino Cheap & Chic's Fall 2009 collection.

They are currently available at Zappos.com for $819.

Of course, I had to visit the Moschino website to see what else is in store for the fall. Below are some of the items that triggered love at first sight. Peep the half suede, half leather ruffle handbag.

I'm off to go destroy the piggy bank now...

Handbag Swoon - Multi Way Bag by Leonie Saliba

I absolutely love the work of Leonie Saliba! I have one of her larger bags but have my heart set on this one next.

It is called the Multi-Way bag because it is a 3-in-1 handbag. You can wear it with the short leather strap, the long chain strap or as a clutch. It is also available in other colors such as red, black and tan. Click here to pick up the Multi-Way Bag by Leonie Saliba for around $165.

Much thanks to Pretaportobello.com for bringing London's Portobello Market to the internet!!

The Uniform Project Update - August 2009

The Uniform Project has now raised over $7400! This is more than double the amount raised a month ago. It seems to be picking up some steam and gaining more exposure. Congrats to Sheena on that!

For more information, check out TheUniformProject.com.

As always, below I've included some of my favorite looks from the past month. What do you think?

Shoe Swoon - Karen Millen Leopard Print Peep Toe

Karen Millen always has the best shoes. The pair I bought in London in 2006 does not reside in the closet with the rest of my shoe collection. Instead, they are displayed on top of the media center in my bedroom. Yes, they are THAT fabulous!

Anywho, check out the Leopard Print Peep Toe by Karen Millen. I'm sure you'll be persuaded to buy yourself a pair (and the handbag to match). Trust me. It'll SO be worth it!

iWood If I Could

Recently, I've been trying to maintain a semi-strict budget...of course, I have to leave some wiggle room for those weak moments experienced while "window shopping". So, when I discovered the website of iWood Eco Design, it took everything within me to not buy a pair of their fabulous sunglasses.

The wooden sunglasses are so eco-chic. The frames are handmade in the U.S. (Southern Indiana, to be exact) using exotic woods such as Bubinga, Macassar Ebony and Sapele Pommele. While, the lenses and metal temples are imported from Italy. Don't you just love when two countries unite for fashion's sake? These sunglasses go for a whopping $370 on iWood's site. However, if you have the time and/or patience for a little bargain-hunting, you may be able to find them on other sites for a fraction of the cost. Keep in mind, however, that the iWood site has the largest selection.

So, ramp up your sunglass collection with the unique, eco-friendly style of iWood Eco Design. Mother Earth will thank you for it.

Etsy Showcase: Lunaversoul (double take)

I know I JUST blogged about Lunaversoul in June (check it out here) but when I saw these earrings and matching cuff bracelet, I had to showcase this Etsy shop again!

Lunaversoul's designer, CJ (who is super cool by the way), is a master of creating pieces that are extremely funky and command attention. These two items are a part of her Santigold collection which includes a mixture of black and multi-colored metallic python-printed leather. How fabulous is that?! The earrings and cuff would look great separately but I don't think I could purchase one without the other. That's like peanut butter with no jelly, seriously.

Check out the earrings and cuff at Lunaversoul's Etsy shop. And while you're there, go ahead and bookmark the shop's main page because I'm sure there will be more great things to come from CJ!
