Etsy Showcase: Lunaversoul

One of my new favorite Etsy sellers is Lunaversoul. The designer, CJ, has the most fabulous ethnic jewelry. Each piece is unique, makes a bold statement and will surely turn heads (in a good way). Lunaversoul's commitment to uniqueness is detailed on her website when CJ explains, "Most of my creations are one of a kind or limited in quantity because I know that people's personalities are like snowflakes, each one is beautiful in it's own way and no two are the same so it's only natural that each person wants their own piece that describes them and compliment the style they are trying to achieve."

I love it!! Plus, we all know there's nothing better than knowing that you won't cross paths with anyone else that owns the same item you do.

Below are 2 of my most recent favorites from the Lunaversoul...although, I wouldn't mind having any one of her pieces in my jewelry collection. Check out all of the Lunaversoul items at Etsy.com and tell her ChiTown Fashionista sent ya!

My shoe collection welcomes Melissa

"Vinyl II" Wedge by Melissa

I scored the last pair (luckily they were in my size) on sale at eLuxury.com. The funky wedge heel was my attraction and they look even more fabulous in person!

The Only Uniform I'd Like to Wear

I recently learned about an inspirational concept called 'The Uniform Project'. It involves a woman who has agreed to wear the same dress (her designer friend created 7 replicas) for 365 days in an effort to a) explore the theory of sustainable fashion and b) raise funds for the Akanksha Foundation - a non-profit organization committed to providing quality education to the slum children in India.

Now don't get me wrong, when I first heard about it, I had the misconception that she would look exactly the same EVERY DAY for a year. It was something that I would've never considered doing UNTIL I saw her photo gallery. She is literally reinventing the same dress each day by simply adding accessories or additional clothing under or over the dress. I am extremely impressed by her level of creativity. She has taught me a valuable lesson that I will share with you free of charge. :) We have enough (if not TOO much) clothes in our closets currently and all it takes is a little creativity and imagination to extend the life span of our existing wardrobe.

She's only about a month and a half into it but I will definitely be following her throughout the year to see how it goes.

To see the daily pics and find out more, visit www.theuniformproject.com and donate something while you're there.

Now, run and tell that to all of your girlfriends!

Poll Results: Annually, on which items do you spend the most money?

With the polls now closed, here are the results.

42% said clothing.
42% said shoes.
14% said handbags.
14% said jewelry.

Looks like clothing and shoes beat handbags and jewelry by a large margin. I can honestly say that I really don't know what I spend the most on. I tend to buy clothes more often but my shoes and handbags are more expensive. Maybe one day I'll start categorizing my budget and really know where my money goes. :)
